Description

. This contract position offers an on-site work environment within a medical practice setting, where you will provide exceptional care to newborns and support their families during critical early moments.

As a Locum NP in Neonatology, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and managing neonatal patients while collaborating closely with neonatologists and other healthcare professionals. Your clinical expertise and compassionate approach will directly contribute to positive patient outcomes and the overall success of our neonatal care team.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of neonatal patients, including physical exams and health histories Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for newborns Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed Monitor vital signs, lab results, and patient progress, adjusting care as needed Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care Provide education and emotional support to parents and family members Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of NP practice Document patient care accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinical protocols Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and infection control guidelines

Requirements

Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in good standing Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) National certification as a Nurse Practitioner, with a focus on neonatal care preferred Associate-level clinical experience, including exposure to neonatal or pediatric settings Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical-thinking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for interacting with patients, families, and teams Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment Current CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required in an on-site hospital or clinic setting

Level IV NICU

Schedule: 7a-8p or 7p-8a

No call requirement

87 beds

Patient Volume: 8-12 per shift

Routine procedures required

Support Staff: Neonatologists, APPs

Board certification required

Paid travel & expenses
