The House Nursing Supervisor serves as the administrative and clinical leader for hospital operations during assigned shifts. This role oversees patient care services, staffing, patient flow, regulatory compliance, and emergency response activities. As the senior nursing authority after normal business hours, the House Supervisor collaborates with physicians, department leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care across the organization. The House Nursing Supervisor promotes operational excellence by coordinating resources, supporting clinical decision-making, facilitating throughput initiatives, resolving patient and staff concerns, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. The position reports to the Director of Clinical Services with a dotted line to the Chief Nursing Officer and serves as a visible leadership presence across the hospital.

How you’ll contribute

A House Nursing Supervisor who excels in this role:

* Provides hospital‑wide leadership during assigned shifts, serving as the senior nursing authority after business hours * Supports clinical teams with real‑time decision‑making and responds to emergent situations (Code Blue, Rapid Response, Stroke Alert, Trauma, Behavioral Emergencies) * Manages house‑wide staffing, float assignments, and resource allocation based on acuity, census, and competency * Ensures safe, efficient patient flow by collaborating with bed management and clinical leaders * Maintains regulatory compliance, investigates safety concerns, documents critical events, and supports staff through coaching and mentorship

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

* Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred * Minimum of three (3) years of progressive acute care nursing experience * Leadership experience as Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator, or similar role preferred * Experience in patient flow, staffing coordination, and hospital operations preferred * Basic Life Support (BLS) required * ACLS required within six months of hire * PALS preferred
