Esse Health is currently seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for our office of Dr.'s McLaughlin & Fisher, located at 12255 DePaul Drive in Bridgeton!
Opportunity:
* Part-time opening * Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. * No nights, weekends or holidays * Outpatient clinical practice * This position is NOT benefit eligible
Day-to-Day:
* Perform back office functions * Assist the provider in the interviewing, examination and treatment of patients * Perform phlebotomy * Measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height * Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (NextGen) * Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team * The MA will also be cross-trained to cover the front desk including: * Performing patient check-in/check-out * Scheduling patient appointments * Collecting co-payments * Verifying insurance * Registering patients/update patient demographics * Answering the telephone * Balancing monies at day end *
Who we are seeking (preferred):
* The Medical Assistant is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers. * Formal training which will probably be indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program. * CPR Certification. * PC/Windows proficiency. * Medical coding familiarity. * Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction. * Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
