Job Description Medical Assistant - Henry Ford Health **$2,000 SIGN ON BONUS** Job Title Medical Assistant Department: Family Practice-E. Schedule Monday: Clinic hours 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM Tuesday–Friday: Clinic hours 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM 3rd Saturday of each month: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM No Sundays or holidays Staff work one late evening each week on Monday, followed by Tuesday–Friday, with one of those days being a shorter shift. Example schedule: Monday 10:00 AM–8:00 PM; Tuesday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; Wednesday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; Thursday 8:00 AM–2:00 PM; Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Role Overview As a Medical Assistant, you play a vital role in providing quality and compassionate care to patients. You will work under the direct supervision of providers and nursing leadership, performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to support patient care and ensure a seamless healthcare experience. What You Will Do Greet and escort patients to the exam room, ensuring a welcoming environment. Obtain and record accurate medical histories from patients. Measure and document vital signs, contributing to patient assessments. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and readiness. Assist providers during examinations and procedures, facilitating efficient and effective care. Qualifications What You Will Need Required Qualifications High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Additional Requirements: Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation. Preferred Qualifications Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
