Pharmacy Technician (Admixture)
Are you passionate about patient care and ready to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer? Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician (Admixture) to join our team in our Scottsdale location.
* What You’ll Do: * Prepare and compound medications, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy, under supervision * Review medication orders for accuracy, completeness, and authorization * Verify insurance approvals before preparing medications * Accurately calculate dosages and conversions (metric/apothecary systems) * Maintain inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications * Keep detailed logs (temperature, controlled substances, protocol drugs, etc.) * Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety guidelines for medication handling and disposal * Clean and maintain sterile compounding environments (hoods, equipment) * Stay current with new medications and protocols * Travel between locations as needed
What We’re Looking For:
* 2+ years of pharmacy experience, including sterile compounding (IV admixture and/or chemotherapy) * Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and pharmaceutical terminology * Solid math and dosage calculation skills * Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety * Ability to interpret prescriptions and follow protocols accurately * Excellent communication and teamwork skills * Oncology experience * Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB preferred) * Experience with inventory control, purchasing, and dispensing systems * Retail pharmacy experience (a plus) * Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
