The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Rehabilitation Hospital provides patient care services that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
* 6:1 Nurse Ratio * 12 Hour Shifts * No Call Required
How you’ll contribute
You’ll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing. . A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who excels in this role:
* Administer medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition. * Minimize potential for medication errors by following proper medication administration procedures. * Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy. * Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions. * Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision. * Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly. * Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families. * Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors. * Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs. * Perform other duties as assigned.
What we're looking for
Graduate of accredited licensed practical/vocational nurse program and current state licensure as Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse. Additional requirements include:
* CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS preferred. * IV Certified highly preferred. * Minimum six months’ Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
