Job Summary: The Medical Assistant will work under the supervision of physicians to provide high-quality care to patients with allergies and asthma. The MA will be responsible for patient assessment, administering allergy tests, providing patient education, and assisting with clinical procedures.

Key Responsibilities: Assist in patient intake and assessment, recording medical history and symptoms. Administer allergy skin tests and pulmonary function tests. Prepare and administer allergy immunotherapy injections. Educate patients on allergy management, treatment plans, and medication usage. Assist physicians with clinical procedures. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records. Monitor patients for adverse reactions to treatments and medications. Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinic environment. Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations. Interview/update patient’s chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals. Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports. Prepares patient charts a week in advance. Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts. Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day. Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications. Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart. Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures. Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversation Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered. Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient. Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed. Main fax line– Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s) Performs related duties as required. Requirements Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program Two years+ of experience as a Medical Assistant in an Allergy or Asthma clinic setting Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
