Job Description Naval Medical Center San Diego – San Diego, CA Compass Government Solutions is currently recruiting qualified Nurse Practitioners for Family Care and PT Care to provide healthcare services at Naval Medical Center San Diego in San Diego, California. Services are performed in support of military healthcare operations within a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) environment. Job Duties (NP - Family Care) Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF Perform general screening, medical care, and examinations for routine, acute, and chronic conditions involving all organ systems Provide immunizations and patient counseling as indicated Diagnose and treat patients with acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted clinical protocols, practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician Promote preventive care and health maintenance through annual physicals, patient education, counseling, and self-care guidance Technically direct and teach staff, provide evidence-based educational lectures, and participate in staff in-service training Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families regarding treatment plans and patient care Recognize conditions requiring isolation and ensure universal precautions are maintained during patient encounters Attend staff meetings, case discussions, continuing education, and quality improvement and patient safety activities Job Duties (NP - PT Care Coordinator) Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) Clinically supervise and provide screening, medical care, and examinations for routine, acute, and chronic conditions involving all organ systems Provide immunizations and counsel patients as indicated Collaborate with and provide clinical guidance to members of the healthcare team in the coordination of patient care Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician Promote preventive care and health maintenance through education, counseling, and patient self-care guidance Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families regarding treatment plans and care coordination Recognize conditions requiring isolation and ensure universal precautions are maintained during all patient encounters Attend staff meetings, case discussions, continuing education, and quality improvement activities Additionally, the NP will: Provide comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth care for maxillofacial surgery patients as an embedded member of the Maxillofacial Surgery service and the Center of Excellence in Maxillofacial Restoration Serve as a continuity provider across the care continuum while supporting surgeon-led care delivery within established protocols and collaborative practice agreements Assess, evaluate, and manage patients across preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative phases of care Support perioperative coordination, inpatient management, post-discharge follow-up, and patient education Work closely with Maxillofacial Surgery residents to support continuity of care and clinical efficiency while preserving resident educational opportunities Participate in inpatient rounds, outpatient clinics, and multidisciplinary conferences Contribute to workflow optimization, quality and safety initiatives, outcomes tracking, and operational support of the Center of Excellence in collaboration with Maxillofacial Surgery faculty and leadership Maintain clinical activities aligned with the mission, scope, and strategic priorities of the Maxillofacial Surgery service and Center of Excellence Qualifications FOR NP - FAMILY CARE: Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Graduate from an academic program within the nursing specialty field of study accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by: Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Certified in the specialty required by the Task Order as a Nurse Practitioner by one of the following: American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Must be certified in the specialty required by the task order as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or another recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice. Experience sufficient to meet clinical competency requirements specified in credentialing instructions Current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any U.S. jurisdiction Applicants must be U.S. citizens and eligible for access to U.S. Government computer systems and networks. FOR NP - PT CARE COORDINATOR: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Graduate from an academic program within the specialty field of nursing study accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Possess a current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in any U.S. jurisdiction Eligible for hospital credentialing and privileging Substantial inpatient surgical experience may be considered Minimum of five (5) years of advanced practice provider experience, including at least three (3) years in a surgical or procedural subspecialty preferred, including: Maxillofacial Surgery ENT Plastic Surgery Trauma Head and Neck Oncology Demonstrated experience managing complex perioperative patients in inpatient and outpatient settings Experience coordinating care for multidisciplinary and high-acuity patient populations Ability to independently assess, diagnose, and manage patients within scope of practice Experience with perioperative optimization, postoperative management, and complication recognition Proficiency in ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies and prescribing medications per institutional policy Experience in care coordination, case management, or clinical program support Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams Experience overseeing or mentoring clinical support staff and contributing to efficient clinic operations Participation in quality improvement initiatives, clinical pathway development, or outcomes tracking Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills Ability to function with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining collaborative practice Proficiency with electronic medical records and digital health tools Additional Information Benefits: At Compass Government Solutions, we value our team and offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and professional growth: Competitive Salary – Recognizing your skills and experience.
