Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Responsibilities: GENERAL PURPOSE: Maintains responsibility for management oversight of more than one inpatient area and serves as a resource for Nurse Managers and others in the Department. Participates in service or departmental level program planning and assessment and allocation of resources. Oversees and directs unit or departmental activities including standards development, implementation and monitoring, human resource management, assessment and monitoring of resource needs and utilization, staff development, and communication within nursing practice as well as among other disciplines and departments. Represents the unit and service on committees at all levels within the institution. FT position available. Seeking a motivated individual for the Thoracic/Surgical Specialty Unit with demonstrated commitment to patient and family-centered care and continuous positive performance improvement. Accountability for patient care quality and safety measures, and the unit budget. Ensures a structure that supports ongoing nursing education, staff satisfaction and staff retention for all levels of staff. Ability to work with a diverse interdisciplinary team utilizing strong interpersonal & communication skills is necessary. Flexibility, open mindedness for change and a positive attitude are a must. NYS RN license, MS degree required or plan for achievement, 3-5 years med surg experience required. All interested applicants submit resume to Nursing Recruitment, Box 619-19.
