Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Department: RGH Pulmonary Medicine Location: Joseph C Wilson Medical Building- 800 Carter Street Rochester, NY 14621 Hours Per Week: As scheduled Schedule: Days, Monday- Friday 730am to 4pm SUMMARY: As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, your knowledge, strong attention to detail, compassion and analytical capabilities ensure meaningful, personalized care for each respiratory patient. Pulmonary medicine at Rochester Regional Health involves the causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases affecting the lungs. RESPONSIBILITIES: Patient Care - Review and evaluate history, physical exams, current vital signs, admission and current respiratory care orders for each patient; advise providers on appropriate respiratory care procedure and techniques. Planning & Documentation - Initiate and update respiratory care plan for all patients per department policy and procedure; work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to implement the plan of care; monitor and document all pertinent clinical parameters and assessments on all assigned patients; modify treatment techniques based on patient response. Education & Communication - Provide and document patient education for therapeutic procedures performed; communicate information regarding patient's clinical status to appropriate members of healthcare team; participate in the instruction and orientation of Respiratory Care team members, students and other allied health professional. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care New York State Respiratory Therapist (RT) license with current registration, including credentials received prior to 9/1993 OR New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician (RTT) license AND National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) active credentials as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). ACLS certification (current) required within one year of hire. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior Respiratory Therapist experience preferred. EDUCATION: AS: Respiratory Therapy (Required) LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), RT - Respiratory Therapist - New York State Education Department (NYSED) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. PAY RANGE: $44.50 - $44.50 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14621 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
