GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The LPN will play a key role in supporting our physicians and ensuring the highest quality of care for our patient care by perform casting and durable medical equipment as well as clinical tasks related to patient care under the supervision of a physician as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
* Preparing the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests. * Reporting relevant information to the provider; * Assisting the provider with patient care as requested; * Obtain cultures and collect samples, as needed including urine, saliva & blood. * Performing scribe duties, as needed; * Reviewing treatment procedures with patients; * Assisting in ordering tests/retrieving results; * Reviewing discharge instructions; * Cast application, specialty cast, minor reductions/molding/suture/Staple removal and dressing changes; * Prepares injections, obtains cultures as ordered/needed; * Dispense Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to patients, application of DME, custom brace measurements, and, in some cases, ordering of DME inventory; * Verifying patient information; recording medical history and reporting to physician; * Demonstrate complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system; * Maintain and safeguard all patient records as indicated and required by the policies of the practice and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); * Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the essential functions:
* Graduate of an accreditedschool of nursing; * Unrestricted currentLPNlicense to practice nursing in NYS required; * 1- 3 years of recent experience preferred; * Excellent communication and customer service skills; * Proficiency with MicrosoftOffice Suiteand electronic medical records(EMR) preferred; * CPRcertification preferred

* Travel between officesas needed, reliable transportation is required.
