Description Position: Hospice Support Registered Nurse RN Location: Benton Franklin County Type: Part Time Non-Exempt Anticipated Schedule: Thursday Friday Saturday 8:00am – 4:30pm

Position Overview: The Hospice Support Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of Tri-Cities Chaplaincy’s hospice and palliative care team. This role manages the intake and admission process for new patients, conducts comprehensive assessments, and develops timely, individualized care plans. The RN provides both in-person and telephonic triage to evaluate patient needs, determine appropriate levels of care, and ensure effective coordination with families, healthcare providers, and community partners.
In addition to triage and intake responsibilities, this role delivers skilled in-home hospice nursing care, including symptom and pain management, patient and caregiver education, and emotional support for individuals facing end-of-life challenges. The RN collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in homes and facilities. This position also supports relationship-building with referral sources and participates in community outreach to enhance awareness and accessibility of hospice and palliative care services. This multifaceted role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and compassionate communication to support patients and families throughout their end-of-life journey. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: 1. Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Washington. 2. Available to work occasional evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and On-call. 3. Demonstrated ability to adapt to different work environments and provide effective care in diverse settings. 4. Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. 5. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to establish rapport with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. 6. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize competing demands. 7. Compassionate and empathetic approach to caring for patients and families during their end-of-life journey. 8. Proficient computer skills and experience with electronic medical records systems. 9. Available to work occasional evenings and weekends. 10. This position is designated as safety-sensitive and will require passing pre-employment drug testing, which includes cannabis testing in WA State. 11. Successful completion of Blood Bourne Pathogens Training. 12. Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Safety (BLS)
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Two years of experience in hospice, palliative care, or a related field. 2. Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.

Compensation Hiring Range: $37.67/hour - $57.22/hour $3,000 Sign-On Bonus: New hires are eligible to receive a $3,000 bonus upon successful completion of 90 days of continuous employment in good standing.
Premiums: · $2.50/hour Weeknight · $2.25/hour Weekend day · $4.75/hour Weekend Night · $4.00/hour On Call Standby

Hiring Range: The starting pay range offered to new hires, depending on experience and qualifications.

Health Requirements: Satisfy state and agency health requirements by providing proof of immunization, declinations, or approved accommodations as applicable. 7. Screenings: Pass criminal background and drug screenings. 8. Physical Demands: Meet the physical and environmental requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.(see attached physical requirements) 9. Training and Orientation: Complete agency and departmental orientation and required training programs. 10. Continuing Education: Complete ongoing education, policy reviews, and training be designated deadlines. 11. Licensure and Certification: Maintain current licensure(s) and certifications(s) required for the role. 12. Language Proficiency: Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently. 13. Work Availability: Be available to work as assigned or scheduled.
