Amazing Downtown Summer Camp is looking to hire fun, dynamic individuals to lead our medical operations. Health Directors are mentors and role models in health and safety practices. They bring the fun and energy to camp each and every day, while also taking the time to ensure the safety of all campers: managing their medical needs, building relationships with families, and making sure that all health and safety regulations are strictly followed.

Key Responsibilities: Clinical Oversight: Oversee and document all medical incidents and emergencies on-site with professional accuracy. Family & Staff Liaison: Work closely with campers, staff, and families to manage ongoing health needs and provide updates on care. Compliance Leadership: Ensure the site strictly follows all Department of Health rules and regulations. Preventative Care: Design and implement safety systems throughout the camp to proactively prevent illness and injury. Pharmacy & Logistics: Manage all medical supplies and inventory; safely dispense medication while maintaining health records. Community Engagement: Participate in camp-wide events, activities, and spirit days, ensuring safety is integrated into the fun.

Qualifications: Age: 18+ years of age. Licensure: NYS or NJ licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), PA, NP, RN, LPN highly preferred. We do accept applications from medical students. Certifications: Must hold a current Responding to Emergencies (RTE) First Aid certificate and have completed a CPR/BLS course within the past year. Commitment: Must be available for the full season (June 29 – August 21) and required staff orientation June 20, 21, 28 (plus one virtual half-day TBD). Reliability: Consistent Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).

Compensation & Contract Details: We value transparency regarding our seasonal employment structure. Health Directors are hired on a contractual basis for the eight-week summer season. As a seasonal contractual role, compensation is structured as a fixed sum rather than an hourly wage. This total is distributed via four bi-weekly payments. Contract Total: Compensation starts at $5,400 for the full summer.
