Refugee Resettlement assists in helping create a home-away-from-home, we assist government-approved refugees in becoming self-sufficient through cultural orientation, job development, family reunification and resettlement. The Vocational Training Case Manager is responsible The Vocational Training Case Manager is responsible for educating, enrolling and following up with students who are interested in the Vocational Training Program and providing additional support for the employment team. Other responsibilities include conducting employment intakes and assessments, entering data into the Client Track system, maintaining case notes and assisting refugee clients to acquire jobs with the ultimate goal of self-sufficiency. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to handle confidential information, ability to work in a diverse setting and show enthusiasm and commitment to working with the refugee community. PRINCIPAL DUTIES Provides intake assessment for each client interested in vocational training. Maintains communication with service providers including local colleges and transcript evaluators. Provides group and individual intensive job readiness orientations that provide clients with the basic skills required to enhance their employability. Determines specific employment opportunities appropriate to clients and assists clients with accessing employment opportunities by guiding them through the hiring process. Schedules interviews for clients, assists with application, interview process and assesses status of clients after job placement for 30/60/90 days. Provides translation services and transportation assistance for clients as required for securing a job. Verifies enrollment into Refugee Management Solution and Client track. Verifies job referrals and job placements into Client Track. Maintains client files, ensuring completeness and accuracy of file documentation including compliance with funding requirements. Assists with completion of quarterly reports by providing required data. Attends meetings with other service providers, participates in staff retreats, United Way tours, agency fairs and speaking engagements; assists with special organizational project/events and other duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Associate’s Degree • Valid Texas Driver’s License • Bilingual . SKILLS REQUIREMENTS • Knowledge of college programs of study, admissions, registration, financial aid, counseling processes, and community resources • Ability to work independently • Strong sense of accountability for both client achievement and personal development • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information • Demonstrates success working with a variety of people • Knowledge and experience with Word and Excel ......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
