Position Purpose:

Key Responsibilities
* Supervises, coordinates, and participates in preparation, labeling, dispensing of medications and in pharmacy clinical pharmacy activities, taking leadership role for the Pharmacist-I; ensures compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations. * Maintain interface with medical staff and other caregivers; provides information pertaining to new pharmaceutical therapies, formulary, and drug usage. * Compound, package and label ointments, solutions and bulk pharmaceutical supplies according to standard formulas; mix prescribed drugs with intravenous solutions as required. * Supervises/directs pharmacy supportive personnel; verifies daily activities of pharmacy technicians; accountable for performance of support personnel; adheres to productivity guidelines including overtime control of support staff. * Provides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners, including pharmacokinetic services; suggests appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff, as needed. * Participates in quality improvement and medication use review activities; collects data; conducts quality monitors and inspections; maintains logs, records, and other documentation as assigned. * Assists in Formulary management by contributing clinical insight for cost effective drug therapy. * Performs other duties as assigned/required. * Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of department and organization.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate with a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
Experience: N/A
Certification: PGY-1 pharmacy residency graduation general pharmacy practice, Residence Program or
Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS), or other certification via Board of Pharmacy Specialties Pharmacotherapy Specialists (BPS) in general practice area, i.e., geriatric or equivalent practice as clinical pharmacist, to include 40% clinical activities as documented Director or their designee.
License: Licensed in the State of Arizona required within 90 days of hire date*
*New employees eligible for AZ Board of Pharmacy pharmacist license, will be assigned appropriate tasks during licensure processing.

Work Requirements
* Must be able to distinguish color; feel, see, hear, smell, and speak * Sit at computer station approximately 37% of the time; stand to fill, put away, and collect medications approximately 30% of the time; walk to deliver medications, etc. 33% of the time. * Must have manual dexterity; able to balance, crouch, engage in repetitive motion. * Able to carry or lift weight in the range of 25-75 pounds.
