Job Summary Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) at Centralus Health Ambulance (CHT) play a vital role in advancing our mission to deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency medical care and transport services that strengthen the well-being of our communities. EMTs provide basic life support (BLS), patient assessment, emergency care, and safe transport under medical direction. EMTs may also assist with interfacility transports, community paramedicine initiatives, and disaster response operations as directed. Job Functions Each team member of the organization has responsibilities towards the organization. Deliver Quality Patient Care: Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, assess and treat patients according to BLS protocols, and provide compassionate, high-quality care Communicate and Collaborate: Maintain clear, professional communication with dispatch, coworkers, other responders, and receiving facilities to ensure seamless care coordination. Document and Maintain Readiness: Complete accurate and timely patient care documentation; maintain ambulance, equipment, and station readiness, including restocking and infection control. Demonstrate Professional Accountability: Take responsibility for decisions and actions, perform assigned tasks to high standards, and promote transparency and continuous improvement. Education / Experience Qualifications Required: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED or similar), Valid New York State Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) certification. Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification. Possess a NYS motor vehicle operator's license Class D or higher for at least the prior three years. Complete FEMA Independent Study Courses: IS-5.a, IS-100.c, IS-200.c, IS-700.b, IS-800.d (or most recent versions) Preferred: Experience in a hospital-based or system-integrated EMS agency preferred. Associate's degree; Valid International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification; FEMA ICS-300 and ICS-400 Physical and Other Requirements Any person desiring to become an EMT team member at CHT shall meet the following requirements: Minimum Eligibility Requirements Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
