Medical Assistant Instructor – Substitute
Location: Pima Medical Institute - Colorado Springs Campus | On-Site
Position Type: Part-Time, Substitute/PRN (As Needed)
Compensation: $22.88 – $27.46 per hour
Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced and certified Medical Assistant to serve as a Substitute Instructor at our Colorado Springs campus. Key Responsibilities:
* Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and meet established curriculum objectives. * Evaluate and grade student coursework and assignments within 72 hours. * Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students. * Communicate proactively with leadership regarding student academic or behavioral concerns. * Coordinate guest speakers, clinical site visits, and student externship supervision. * Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and ongoing curriculum review. * Maintain accurate and complete student records including attendance, incident reports, and early alerts. * Enforce safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors.
Minimum Requirements:
* Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR minimum 3 years of equivalent job-related training and experience. * Minimum 3 years of full-time practical Medical Assistant experience. * Current, unencumbered national MA certification (CMA or RMA); willingness to obtain certification if not currently held. * Applicable state and local professional credentials as required. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior classroom teaching experience. * Advanced clinical expertise in a specialty area.
