The assignment spans 14 weeks in a short term acute care setting. The role is travel/temporary with no guaranteed hours and is located in Geneva, New York.

Responsibilities - Provide direct patient care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in the ICU, including monitoring, assessment, and documentation. - Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocol; respond promptly to changes in patient condition and implement required interventions. - Manage ICU equipment and lines (e.g., monitors, ventilators, IVs) and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team. - Participate in daily rounds, communicate patient status to family members and the care team, and ensure accurate handoffs during shift change. - Maintain infection control practices, patient safety standards, and privacy of confidential information. - Document in electronic medical records, update care plans, and meet regulatory and unit-specific requirements.
Requirements - Active NYS Registered Nurse license - BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the RQI system during clinical orientation - NIHSS certification required - Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire - CPI certification within 90 days of hire - TNCC certification (recommended within 2 years of hire) - Emergency Nurses Association certification (recommended within 2 years of hire) - Demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate care across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations - Ability to handle confidential information, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team - Computer literacy and proficiency with electronic medical record systems
