Job Purpose:
Under clinical supervision of a physician, the Nurse Practitioner provides behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment to patients within the scope of his/her licensure and expertise level of the supervising physician.
Qualifications:
* Master’s Degree in Nursing with appropriate license to practice.
Core Job Duties:
* Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives, and other professionals. * Prescribe and administer psychotherapeutic treatments/medications to treat behavioral health disorders and/or substance use disorders at assigned program/sites. * Advise and inform guardians, relatives, and significant others of the patient’s conditions and treatment. * Examine or conduct laboratory or diagnostic tests on patients, as necessary. * Attend Quarterly Prescriber Meetings and any other assigned meetings. * Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models. * Demonstrate a working knowledge of diagnostic criteria sets for substance use and/or behavioral health disorders. * Orally communicate information effectively and accurately. * Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care. * Abide by program and agency policies and procedures. * Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
