The Registered Nurse (RN) at the Crisis Care Center provides comprehensive nursing care to individuals experiencing acute mental health and/or substance use crises. Working in a fast-paced, psychiatric crisis-centered environment, the RN conducts physical and mental health assessments, administers and manages medications, monitors stabilization, and collaborates with prescribers and multidisciplinary team members. When assigned, the RN serves as the charge nurse for the unit, providing shift-level clinical oversight, coordinating nursing activities, and supporting safe and effective operations. The RN supports crisis stabilization, medical clearance, care coordination, and discharge planning while ensuring safe, trauma-informed, and person-centered care.

POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Promote and maintain a safe, therapeutic, and recoveryoriented environment in accordance with ODMHSAS standards and agency policy.  Perform initial, ongoing, and comprehensive nursing assessments of clients’ physical and mental health status. * Administer, monitor, and manage medications and prescribed medical treatments in compliance with OBN regulations, prescriber orders, and agency medication administration and riskmanagement policies. * Monitor for, evaluate, and document psychotropic medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, contraindications, and side effects, and report concerns to the prescriber per policy. * Maintain responsibility for pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory, ensuring proper storage, security, expiration monitoring, and regulatory compliance. * Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation consistent with ODMHSAS, OBN, and agency documentation standards. * Under the direction of the prescriber, coordinate consumer transfers to a higher level of care in accordance with Crisis Care Center clinical pathways. * Implement and support behavior management interventions within program guidelines, individualized treatment plans, and agency policy. * Ensure compliance with psychopharmacologic and medical treatment policies and communicate recommendations for policy revision through appropriate leadership channels. * Evaluate and chart psychotropic medication effectiveness, complications and side effects. * Ensure that all nursing staff and mental health techs comply with written policies and procedures as established by FCS * Escalate and report crisis situations promptly to the Nurse Manager and Supervisor on Duty in accordance with agency incident reporting and chain of command procedures. * Serve as charge nurse when assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION:

* Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Required * Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

EXPERIENCE:

* Preferred 1 year of work experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric setting.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

* Knowledge of psychiatric and medical nursing practices applicable to individuals experiencing acute mental health and/or substance use crises. * Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain therapeutic, professional relationships with individuals with serious mental illness, while respecting consumer rights, autonomy, and treatment preferences. * Knowledge of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and ability to apply evidence based, clinically appropriate nursing interventions. * Proficiency in trauma-informed, recovery oriented, and person-centered care models, consistent with ODMHSAS standards. * Skill in clinical judgment, prioritization, and decision-making during high acuity, rapidly changing clinical situations.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

* Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma
