About the role

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Registered Nurse – Paediatrics to join us in a part time role (0.47 FTE – 3x 12hr shifts per fortnight). Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield which opened in early 2026. This state of the art facility meets the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

What you’ll be doing

The Registered Nurse (RN) for Paediatrics Inpatient and Outpatient ward will become an integral part of the team in this brand new 12-bed paediatric ward. Providing comprehensive nursing care, including patient advocacy and addressing physical, emotional and spiritual needs in a safe, efficient and patient-centred manner to enhance optimal patient outcomes.

* Promote safety, security and integrity for patients and staff * Adhere to infection control policies and maintain confidentiality * Engage in activities to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction * Comply with organisational policies and guidelines * Enhance professional development and mentor less experienced staff * Value research in improving nursing outcomes * Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and other health professionals * Support and encourage patient decision-making in healthcare * Accept accountability for actions and ensure communication is professional and ethical * Recognise and maintain knowledge base and competence in nursing practice

About you

We are searching for a Registered Nurse with a passion for Paediatric care to seamlessly join the team and hit-the-ground-running, continuing your nursing career and providing exceptional care for our patients and their families from day one. 

The ideal candidate will have current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions) and minimum 12 months post graduate experience.

* Demonstrated paediatric nursing experience * Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills * Strong paediatric focus and passion for providing family centred care * The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team  * A commitment to learn and develop your skills and commitment to the continued quality improvement and best practice principles within your role
