Summary:
Vighter is recruiting a Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health, to provide patient care and administrative support at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. In accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines, while supporting the healthcare needs of Active-Duty Service Members, their families and veterans.

Principal Accountabilities:
* Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adult military members, retirees, and their significant others ages 18–65. * Perform psychiatric assessments, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop treatment plans. * Provide individual, couple, family, and group psychotherapy within granted privileges. * Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications within scope of practice and facility requirements. * Order and review laboratory, imaging, neurological, and psychological testing as appropriate. * Monitor treatment response and modify plans based on patient outcomes. * Provide crisis intervention and ongoing psychiatric care. * Coordinate inpatient and outpatient care with providers, families, command teams, and other resources. * Complete consultations, referrals, and follow-up for abnormal findings. * Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, mental health technicians, and other team members. * Support population-based mental health care and disease prevention. * Participate in staff and trainee education, committees, and process-improvement activities. * Maintain compliance with facility policies, professional standards, infection control, and patient-safety requirements.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Strong psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management skills. * Knowledge of individual, family, couple, and group psychotherapy. * Ability to manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions. * Strong communicationand collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. * Ability to provide crisis intervention, patient education, and mental health consultation.
Education:
* Master’s degree in Nursing from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program in the applicable specialty.
Qualifications:
* Must be a U.S. Citizen. * Current, active, and unrestrictedAdvanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license. * Basic Life Support (BLS). * Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification through ANCC. * Minimum 1 year of experience in mental health or psychiatric care with adults, individuals, families, couples, or groups.
Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:
* The expected duty hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 0730-1630, with 1 hour break as stated within the contract.

* Location: Joint Base Andrews (JBA), MD * Supportive team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff. * Opportunity to work with diverse populations, including Service Members, Veterans, retirees and their families.
Travel:
* As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Commuting is non-compensatory. All official travel is government funded.

Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to stand or sit for more than 8 hours per day. * Must be able to use an elevator or walk up & down stairs. * Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet. * Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders. * Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print. * Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear. * Must be able to perform duties in an indoor office or outdoor environment. * Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation. * Must undergo Urine Drug Screening (UDS). * Must be a Citizen of the United States or legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
