Description The Medical Assistant (MA) assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a practitioner. This position interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height) and records information on patients' charts. The MA prepares treatment rooms and completes thorough documentation in electronic health records. The MA answers telephones, screens callers, relays messages and greets visitors. The position may be responsible for drawing and collecting blood samples from patients for laboratory analysis. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Assist patients by providing information, services, and assistance Welcome patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit Prepare patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the exam room Perform preliminary physical tests: take blood pressure, weight and temperature; report patient history summary, phlebotomy, and other assigned tasks Secure patient information and maintain patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keep patient information confidential. Ensure accurate Electronic Medical Records documentation Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations Complete records by recording patient examination, treatment and test results Maintain medical supply inventory and perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating Communicate with insurances as well as other clinics and patients Other duties as assigned Requirements

Medical Assistant Experience: At least 1 year Vital Signs Experience: At least 1 year EMR Systems Experience: At least 1 year High school diploma Medical Assisting diploma depending on state requirements Bilingual Spanish preferred
