Job Summary:
The OB/GYN Nurse Navigator serves as a clinical and operational leader responsible for ensuring high-quality, coordinated care across women’s health services. This role oversees patient access, referral management, and care transitions while supporting efficient clinical workflows and regulatory compliance. The coordinator partners with providers and leadership to enhance patient outcomes, drive quality performance, and optimize OB/GYN service delivery.
In addition to providing direct patient care, including triage, education, and procedural support—the role leads and mentors clinical staff, ensures competency in OB/GYN practices, and supports ongoing education initiatives. The coordinator also manages key clinical processes such as scheduling procedures, tracking quality measures, monitoring EMR documentation, and overseeing immunizations, laboratory services, and supply management. This position plays a vital role in advancing patient-centered care initiatives, including support for special populations such as Title X and centering pregnancy programs, while promoting safety, efficiency, and excellence in clinical practice.
Essential Functions:
1. Coordinate and manage missed-cycle OB patient appointments to ensure timely follow-up and continuity of care. 2. Monitor and track internal and external OB referrals, ensuring completion and appropriate care coordination. 3. Oversee transfer-of-care visits, ensuring seamless patient transitions and accurate documentation. 4. Support and monitor MPRA completion, ensuring adherence to workflow standards and timelines. 5. Coordinate scheduling of OB/GYN procedures to promote efficient patient access and provider utilization. 6. Track and report OB/GYN quality measures to support performance improvement and regulatory compliance. 7. Serve as a clinical team lead and resource, partnering with the Center Manager to support daily clinical operations and OB/GYN service delivery. 8. Provide guidance, training, and competency oversight for Clinical Medical Assistants, including OB/GYN-specific skills and workflows. 9. Deliver direct patient care, including assessments, injections, triage (in-person and telephonic), patient education, and support during OB/GYN procedures. 10. Facilitate patient flow and same-day access by collaborating with providers and implementing standing orders for medications, referrals, immunizations, and screenings. 11. Oversee key clinical operations including immunizations, lab services (including OB/GYN-related testing), and medication/supply inventory management to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
12. Assists with ongoing clinical education, including OB/GYN competencies, consistent with GBMS needs, goals, and objectives. 13. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of the EMR and serves as a clinical resource, including documentation of OB/GYN visits and procedures. 14. Support Three by Three and Title X patients through centering pregnancy programs, patient education, and coordinated care services.
Nonessential Functions:

Minimum Qualifications
1. Current Registered Nursing License in the State of Maryland or compact state required. 2. Associate Degree in Nursing or a practical nursing diploma with relevant experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or an equivalent field of study preferred. 3. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) required. 4. Bilingual is a plus! 5. OB/GYN experience is a plus
