Overview Registered Nurse – PCU (Cardiac Progressive Care/Stepdown) travel assignment in Burlington, Vermont. Start date 05/21/2026 for a 4-week contract. Weekly pay $2,234-$2,336 per week with no guaranteed hours. Shift: 3x12-hour nights. Setting: hospital travel assignment.

Responsibilities - Provide direct nursing care to PCU patients, including post-operative cardiac patients (Day 1 post-op CABG) and telemetry monitoring - Assess, interpret, and respond to changes in patient status; hemodynamic monitoring and timely intervention for arrhythmias or decompensation - Administer medications, manage IV therapies and drips, pain control, and chest tube management as appropriate - Collaborate with physicians, case management, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans; perform accurate handoffs during shift changes - Document in the Epic EMR with accurate and timely charting; ensure compliance with hospital policies and quality standards - May float to like units as needed; maintain patient safety and infection control practices
Requirements - Active Registered Nurse license (Vermont) or eligible for licensure - Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required prior to start; BLS and ACLS required; PCCN preferred - Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required - Minimum 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year in a PCU or related unit; recent large trauma Level 1 experience within the last year; cardiothoracic and vascular experience required - Post-operative experience: 1 day hearts open/closed acceptance; strong cardiac clinical background - Clear willingness to work a weekend-centered schedule and to float to similar units when needed - A-Line experience is a plus; candidates with CABG/post-op OH experience may be considered without A-Line in some cases
