Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Responsibilities: NP or PA We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Electrophysiology (EP) team. This full-time role will support both inpatient and procedural services, playing a key role in optimizing patient flow, enhancing procedural efficiency, and expanding EP services. The EP APP will work collaboratively with electrophysiologists, cardiology fellows, APPs and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, including performing select procedures and participating in procedural sedation. Key Responsibilities: Procedural Responsibilities Assist electrophysiologists in EP lab procedures (e.g., ablations, device implants) Perform pre-procedural assessments and post-procedural care Independently perform implantable loop recorder (ILR) insertions and explanation in accordance with institutional privileging Independently perform cardioversions in appropriate clinical settings with physician oversight available per protocol Participate in the administration and monitoring of moderate sedation during EP procedures in accordance with institutional policies Improve workflow efficiency to support increasing procedural volumes Inpatient / Consult Service Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias and device-related concerns Participate in daily EP consults alongside attending physicians and cardiology fellows Develop and implement care plans, including medication management and follow-up Coordinate care with cardiology, hospital medicine, and other specialties Device Management Perform and interpret cardiac device interrogations (pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders) Utilize remote monitoring platforms (e.g., PaceMate or equivalent systems) Document and bill for device-related services in accordance with guidelines Program Development Support the growth of the EP APP role within inpatient and outpatient settings Participate in quality improvement initiatives, committee work and workflow optimization in collaboration with the leadership team Assist in developing protocols, education materials, and training for staff, fellows and new APPs in collaboration with the leadership team using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training. *APP roles and responsibilities would grow with the demands of the electrophysiology service lines. Qualifications: 2–5 years of APP experience. Cardiology experience preferred, but not required Distinguished new graduates with relevant clinical experience will be considered Preference given to candidates with procedural medicine experience and/or OR training or first-assist certification Current ACLS and BLS certification required Nurse Practitioner Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner. Physician Assistant Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
