Overview Registered Nurse - Med Surg | Atlanta, GA, US Start Date: 06/01/2026 | Duration: 8 weeks | Weekly pay: $1,546 - $1,626 per week | Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week | Shift: Night (2x3) | Setting: Hospital | Travel - Temporary Assignment
This travel assignment places you on a high-acuity med-surg unit with surgical-trauma coverage. EPIC electronic medical records are in use, and duties will include direct bedside nursing, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and patient-family education. This position requires flexibility for night shifts and a willingness to work shifts as assigned, with no block scheduling.
Key Highlights - Start date: 06/01/2026 - 8-week contract with potential extension - 36 guaranteed hours per week - Night shift on a high-acuity med-surg/trauma service (2x3 schedule) - EPIC EMR experience required - BLS required; ACLS preferred - No RTO (time off) requests accepted
Responsibilities - Deliver direct nursing care to high-acuity med-surg patients, including spinal neuro trauma, surgical trauma, gunshot injuries, quadriplegia, and related conditions. - Monitor patient status, interpret vitals and lab trends, respond to changes, and escalate as needed. - Administer medications, therapies, and procedures per physician orders; ensure accurate documentation in EPIC. - Collaborate with physicians, case management, therapy teams, and ancillary staff; assist with care planning and discharge planning. - Promote patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practices; provide patient and family education regarding care plans and procedures. - Perform accurate handoffs during shift changes and uphold compliance with policies and procedures.
Requirements - Active RN license with Nursys verification; ability to practice in Georgia - Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience in a high-acuity setting - EPIC EMR experience required - BLS required; ACLS preferred - Ability to work night shift and the 2x3 schedule; willingness to work assigned shifts - Profile must include: complete Work History/Resume with no gaps greater than 60 days, Skills Checklist, References, Certification Card, Nursys License Verification, and demographic info with badge photo
