Position Title: Director Interventional Radiology Department: Interventional Radiology Job Description: General Description: Under general direction, and in collaboration with hospital and medical staff leadership; plans, organizes and directs the clinical and non-clinical operations of the Interventional Radiology service-line, including, but not limited to: Neurointerventional and Body/Trauma. Essential Functions/Duties: Plans, organizes and directs the clinical and non-clinical operations associated with providing comprehensive Interventional Radiology Services in an academic-affiliated acute-care treatment facility. Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure accomplishment of service-line goals and objectives. Actively contributes to the enforcement and achievement of all required accreditation, professional practice and/or governmental standards. Develops and oversees continuing education and training programs to enhance staff skills and qualifications. Supports academic and clinical training affiliations to promote recruitment and career field opportunities. Develops and implements annual and long-term strategic plans and budgets (capital, operating, staffing). Prepares and submits business proposals/proformas to improve the capability, efficiency and quality of the service-line. Establishes and monitors productivity and quality assurance targets. Prepares and reviews employee evaluations and personnel actions. Maintains service-line responsibility and approval authority for financial, operational and personnel transactions. Evaluates clinical information systems and recommends changes for improvement. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Master’s Degree required. Experience: 5 to 7 years of progressive leadership experience with 4 years of consecutive advanced to expert-level professional clinical experience in an acute-care facility. 2 of the 4 years must be in a management capacity with emphasis in multi-disciplinary adult diagnostic, interventional radiology or interventional cardiology services. Experience in a major academic-affiliated care setting preferred. License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Registered as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialists OR Registered as a Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) with equivalent experience OR Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Advanced to expert-level knowledge of the theory, practices, techniques and terminology associated with a comprehensive multidisciplinary adult invasive cardiology program in an academic-affiliated, acute-care treatment facility. Knowledge of local, state, national and other applicable guidelines, standards and/or requirements pertinent to the service-line. Demonstrated skill in developing, planning, implementing and directing technical, professional, and support activities in the clinical and non-clinical service settings. Demonstrated knowledge and skill sufficient for organizing, developing, prioritizing and directing multiple departments, subordinate leadership and staff. Demonstrated knowledge of financial management, personnel management, inventories, performance improvement, statistical measures, and report preparation. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in utilizing computer hardware and a diverse selection of clinical and non-clinical software and databases. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective planning, organizational and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with diverse project direction/management ability. Able to function effectively and initiate action with limited direction or resources. Able to facilitate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and customers. Able to identify deficiencies and implement appropriate corrective actions. Able to multi-task and perform leadership and/or staff-level functions in a clinical and/or non-clinical setting as required to meet service or support demands.
